Türkiye wins two titles on Day 7 in Durrës

On 18 October, Day 7 of the 2026 European Junior & U23 Championships in Durrës, Albania, Türkiye's Tuana Suren and Selahattin Altin won junior titles. In the women's junior 86 kg category, Armenia's Emma Poghosyan claimed gold with a total of 249 kg (109 kg Snatch + 140 kg Clean & Jerk), narrowly ahead of Georgia's Mariam Murgvliani by one kilogram. Tuana Suren took all three gold medals in the women's junior +86 kg category with a 108 kg Snatch, 133 kg Clean & Jerk, and 241 kg total. Polish lifter Marcin Ziolkowski set two European Junior records in the men's junior 110 kg with a 176 kg Snatch and a 377 kg total. In the men's junior +110 kg category, Selahattin Altin won with a total of 379 kg (166 + 213). The championships will conclude on 19 October.
